From Your Pastor's Heart - December 11, 2016

Good Morning Family!

I have more than several things to share with you this morning.  So, here goes!

First off, there are monthly calendars available on the table in the foyer for December and January.  Hopefully, you will utilize these to keep abreast of the latest happenings at FBCCF.   Although these dates are in the bulletin each week in the box on the announcement page, several have asked for a calendar to keep to help them navigate through the month.  So, we have put them out in the foyer for you to pick up.

Second thing is: All through December, we are collecting for the “FBCCF Loren Easley Christmas Missions Offering”.  Funds will be collected all through December. This year, the proceeds will go toward the overseas missionary that we support known as “The Fisherman”.  The latest updates on his work are on the bulletin board outside the church office.  Our goal this year is $400.  This will go through Team Expansion, the sending authority for him.   Mark your donations to this fund clearly on your offering envelope.

Third, this morning’s service will be quite unique.  We are going back in time together for an old fashioned Kraft Music Hall Christmas Broadcast of 1942 Radio Show.  You will not only enjoy what some of our folks have been working on for this morning, but you will be challenged as well.  This second Sunday of Advent, our theme is PEACE.  We hope that you will be reminded of the PEACE that Jesus offers to us not only at Christmas, but everyday.  And so with that, we offer up to you a very interactive morning.

Lastly, out on the table in the foyer is an updated Deacon Family Ministry listing.  Please pick one up to see who your deacon is.  If for some reason, you are not on the list it could be because you are either not on our membership rolls or you have not requested to be on the list.  Please let me know if you would like to be included, as I compiled the list as best I could.

As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”  II Timothy 2:15

Humbly Yours,

Bro Steve

Good Morning Family!

Welcome to the Christmas Season!  What a wonderful time of the year!  We give because He gave first!

Today, we will begin collecting for the “FBCCF Loren Easley Christmas Missions Offering”.

Each Sunday in December, we will light candles on our Advent Wreath and celebrate a different aspect of the Lord Jesus!  This Sunday, we will look at the topic of “HOPE”.  Then, each of the other Sundays, we will look at “PEACE’, “JOY”, and culminate with “LOVE” on Christmas morning.  Oh yes, remember that Christmas happens to fall on Sunday this year.  I know many may be traveling, but we will still gather on Christmas morning for those who are in town.  What better day to have church than Christmas Day!

On Christmas morning, we will not have Sunday School.  We will only gather for worship at our normal time of 10:30am.  That will be the only time we meet on Christmas Day.  So, mark your calendars!  Please refer to the bulletin for the other dates and things to remember for the month of December.

I am looking so forward to this moth as we worship the King of kings born in such a lowly fashion.  Jesus surely demonstrated the word humility for all of us even in His incarnation.

As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”  II Timothy 2:15

Humbly Yours,

Bro Steve

Good Morning Family,

The Christmas Season is in full swing now!  I have always loved this time of the year.  Celebrating Jesus’ birth with family, church family, and friends is such a sweet time.  This is also the most musical time of the year.  So many songs!  So many memories!  So many blessings from the Lord!

Today, we will be sharing together in the morning service in regarding being grateful for the Lord’s hand in our lives.  I am so thankful for His guiding hand, His giving hand, and His correcting hand as well.  I cannot even picture my life without Him.  If I try to think of it, I only see darkness and pointlessness.  He is everything to us.

But, with Christ’s incarnation, light came into darkness, purpose took the place of pointlessness, forgiveness covered our guiltiness.  The manger held everything we had been waiting for, everything we had been needing, and even more than we could have thought possible.  Christmas is a reason to celebrate Christ, share the Gospel, and praise the Father who bankrupt Heaven for your sake!

Christ divested Himself of His high throne to come and breathe our air, eat our food, live with us, laugh with us, and cry with us.  Without Christmas, Easter would not exist.  If Christ had not become obedient to come to the manger; He could not have been obedient to the death on the cross for your sin and mine.  Christmas is not just about incarnation, but about the beginning of the plan of salvation.  The cross was the whole purpose of His birth.

Join us tonight as we begin Christmas at FBCCF.  We will share together once again in the “Hanging of the Greens” at 6:30pm.  We’ll be decorating the church for Christmas, so please come help out.  Even if you are unable to physically help, come along anyhow and join in the songs and fun times with your church family as we decorate.

As always, my prayer is for you to, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”     II Timothy 2:15

Good Morning Family,

The election is over and now we continue on.  It seems as if we have been in a campaign for the past two years since the midterms.  I know all of us will be glad to not have to listen to or see any more of these ads on radio or television for a while.  Each campaign gets even more harsh than the previous.

The Lord is still on His throne and the world spins every day toward His plan of reclaiming what is His as the Day of the Lord approaches.  Regardless of you political leanings, we must now pray for our new leaders and the many incumbents that were reelected.  Perhaps the Lord will grant us a reprieve from the direction we have been going, I am not sure.  What I am sure of is that short of a true revival in the Body of Christ, no election can bring the much needed cure to what ails America.

People simply need the Lord.  Our elected leaders need Christ and our neighbors need the salvation that is found in no other Name.  We truly believe the truth that was written for the people of Israel in II Chronicles 7:14, is a truth for any nation that relies upon our Father in Heaven as their Lord...

...if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Regardless of who is in the White House, our mission remains and we rely on the grace of the Lord and His power to proclaim to our lost world that Jesus is Lord.  I do pray for our new President that the Lord would touch his heart and allow Him to see the ways in which he must lead and be an example.  We know that God can guide the minds of those in governmental leadership. Proverbs 21:1 tells us that. We pray for peaceful and prosperous days ahead, but we also pray for the Lord to bring about His will for the world as we await the coming of Jesus.  We must keep our eyes on our King Jesus.

As always, my prayer is for you to, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”   II Timothy 2:15
