From Your Pastor's Heart - February 5, 2017

Good Morning Family!

It seems as though I just blinked and January is in the books now.  A busy February is coming up.  The Women’s Bible Study has started up again on Thursday Nights at 7:00pm at the church.  And the men welcome Dennis Curry back from his extended time away in California.  We will resume our travel through the book of Genesis in the Men’s Bible Study this week on Tuesday morning at 8:00am.  Thanks to John Dingman and Steve Llewellyn for filling in during his absence.  Great job, guys!

Later this month, we will share together in our Church-wide Winter Banquet.  You can read about it elsewhere in this bulletin.  But, I want to encourage everyone to come.  If you need a ride, we will get you and if you don’t have funds for the $10 cost, we got that too.  There, I have just taken away the excuses I can think of.  Seriously, please let me know if you need help in any area that might hinder you from coming.  I will do whatever it takes to help you get there.

Our son, Ralph is home with us for a couple of weeks until he takes off for boot camp in the United States Army.  He will depart February 20th for Fort Benning, Georgia.  He has been working with his recruiter for months on this and the Lord cleared the way for everything to just fall into place at this time and so, Ralph steps through another open door into what the Lord has for Him.  We are proud of him for seeking out this opportunity.  It’s the first time our entire family has been under the same roof for more than a few days in 10 years!  What a blessing!

As I write this, I have just returned from a fifteen hour road trip to go get him and bring him here.  I listened to multiple sermons on CD in the car during that time.  So watch out!!! I am pretty filled up for this Sunday after sitting under that much great preaching all at once.  This week, we begin chapter 2 of Ephesians.  Looking forward to sharing it with you!

As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15

Humbly Yours,

Bro. Steve

Dr. Steven Gann
