From Your Pastor’s Heart May 10, 2015

Good Morning Family,

Last week was simply awesome!  There is no way I can begin to name all the names calling out all who helped and coordinated.  The service was well attended.  The meal was well stocked.  And the Spirit was very welcome among us.

I was so excited to see Wilma Easley with her son and daughter-in-law Edwin and Phyllis at our service and stay for the luncheon.  As we celebrated the Lord’s Supper, she remarked that it had been so long since she has been able to do that as she lives in a nursing home.  She also told me how much it meant to her that the church was placing a picture of her husband Loren out in the foyer to remember his years of very important ministry here from 1966 – 1980.

Thank you to all who shared their hearts in the service and helped to make it a meaningful time for all in attendance.  And to all who shared from their culinary skills in the meal, we say a hearty, “Wow!”  What a spread of delicious food!  I will mention Sandy Stover as she did bake the cake for the celebration.  It was simply beautiful and had a taste to match!  Thanks, Sandy!  And Mary Ann Curry did a wonderful job of making the Fellowship hall look so festive!  Thanks, Mary Ann!  Beautiful work as usual!

Today, we celebrate Mothers Day in our service.  I am glad we have a day set aside to thank the Lord for our mothers.  I realize this can be a hard day for some for an assortment of reasons.  But, let’s focus on the goodness of God in his design of the family and commit ourselves to doing our part in fulfilling our roles He has given to each of us as husbands, wives, and children; no matter what age we may be as many of us serve in several roles.

As always, my prayer is that we would all “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”    II Timothy 2:15.

Humbly Yours,
