From Your Pastor's Heart - April 17, 2016

Good Morning!

What a busy we week have had!  Several of those in the church body have been sick and are still out this morning.  The bug sure has been going around.

I want to share with you again what we mentioned last Sunday in our morning church service.  Leroy Ayers went home to be with the Lord a week ago this past Friday.  He went peacefully at his home and we have since met with and spoken with his daughter Lynda and her husband Kerry to plan the memorial service.  They are doing well, but are missing Leroy, yet they also know he is with his dear wife who had gone to be with Jesus a few years earlier.

Leroy’s memorial service will be Saturday April 30th with the family and friends visitation time at 10:00am and the service to follow at 11:00.  We will all miss Leroy’s wit and encouraging attitude.  I know I will certainly miss seeing him there in the third pew to my left.  I will also miss discussing the Word with him one on one and in our Men’s Bible Study Group.  But, I know we shall see him again when we are all with the Lord; whether through death or departure.

This morning, we are so glad to have our son Raphael with us in our service.  I have asked him to share from his heart with you this morning and have left the topic to him as the Lord would lead.  I am so thankful for the work of the Lord in his life and how Jesus is teaching him and walking with him daily.

I am praying for a more healthful week for those in our church family who are ill as many are recovering from an assortment of ailments.  When you are on your back the only way to look is up, isn’t that right?

As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”  II Timothy 2:15

Humbly Yours,

Bro. Steve
