From Your Pastor's Heart - April 9, 2017

Good Morning Family!

Recently, we have concluded two different message series.  Our Sunday morning series “In the Heavenly Places- A Walk through Paul’s Letter to the Church at Ephesus” has been greatly challenging to me to live in a manner that is more conscious of the real battle between the Spirit and forces opposed to our Heavenly Father’s Kingdom in this world and in our lives.

Our Sunday evening series, “The Blessing of Revelation” concluded two Sundays ago with the wonderful words, “Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus!”.  What a trip that was as we travelled back in time to the letters of Jesus to the seven churches of Asia Minor and then forward in time to what is to come as the Lord Jesus returns and displays His glory in the punishment of the wicked and the eternal joy of His people.

What a joy it is to be in God’s Word as a church family!  I am also so thankful for your encouragement and support as we walk in faith together.  We definitely need each other in this battle called life.  None of us are “tough guys”.  None of us are designed to go it alone.  We need each other.

Today, we celebrate Palm Sunday.  This is the day Christ was welcomed as the Messiah by a very fickle crowd in the streets of Jerusalem.  As the week progressed and opposition from the religious leaders grew into a deadly poison, there were no doubt many followers of Jesus in the crowd that were confused about the horrendous turn of events culminating in what has come to be know as Good Friday.  For them, at the time, it didn’t seem like a Good Friday.  But, we know the whole story.  It was all in the Father’s plan.  Christ’s suffering and punishment was all for our good and His glory.

Join your family here at church as we walk through the steps of Jesus from Palm Sunday through Good Friday and on to Resurrection Day!

As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15

Humbly Yours,

Bro Steve
