From Your Pastor’s Heart – August 2, 2015

Good Morning Family,

Today we are celebrating with baptism once again!  We will meet outside at the beginning of the service at 10:30am with the congregation under the awning area and the baptismal in the courtyard.  No need to cut the Sunday School teaching time short this week.  Just conclude in enough time to have everyone in the courtyard to praise the Lord together as we watch the testimony of one who has recently surrendered to the Lord Jesus.

As soon as baptism is completed, we will forward ourselves on into the sanctuary to continue our worship time.  Today, we are moving ahead with our study in Paul’s letter to the church at Rome.  He is expounding further on the theme of justification by faith.

You may think Paul is beating a drum here… and he is!  If anything has been twisted and turned to confuse people all through time, it is the fact that we are saved by faith alone.  In our study this morning, we are going to cover all of chapter four in that Paul gives us a wonderful teaching example from the life and faith of our patriarch, Abraham.

You may not be a Jew by birth, but you are a son or daughter of Abraham, if you have faith in the Lord.  He was foretold to be the father of many nations.  He is biologically and spiritually as well; seeing as how millions from every tribe and tongue have come to faith because of the gracious demonstration of the righteousness of God toward mankind found in the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus.

The Lord is so good to provide all we need in “the Word made flesh” for our salvation and all we need in “the Written Word” for our life in Christ.  I am so honored to be called to study along with you this written Word, so we can grow closer together and walk deeper in the Word daily!

As always, my prayer is that we would all Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”    II Timothy 2:15.

Humbly Yours,

Bro Steve
