From Your Pastor's Heart - December 17, 2017

Good Morning Family!

I know my letters to you this month have been rather repetitive.  But, I am wanting to make sure to keep several things in front of your eyes over the holidays: The Christmas Offering, the holiday schedule, and the Advent celebration.

Today, we continue collecting for the “2017 FBCCF Loren Easley Christmas Missions Offering”.  Funds will be collected all through December. This year, the proceeds will go toward the ministry of Pregnancy Lifeline in Reeds Spring.  We wanted to select a local mission this year.    Pregnancy Lifeline is a wonderful local ministry that we already support monthly as a church family.  Our goal this year is $500.  Every dollar given will be forwarded to PLL and their work of encouraging responsible parenting and the pro-life cause.  Please mark Christmas Offering on your envelope as we give to this special cause above our normal giving.

Each Sunday in December, we will light candles on our Advent Wreath and celebrate a different aspect the grace of the Father shown to us through Christ!  Today, we will look at the topic of “JOY”.  So far on each Sunday, we have looked at “HOPE’ and “PEACE”, and will culminate with “LOVE” on Christmas Eve morning.  Please, remember as we have been reminding everyone, that Christmas Eve happens to fall on Sunday this year.

On Christmas Eve morning, we will not have Sunday School.  We will only gather for worship at our normal time of 10:30am.  Then, at 6:30pm, we will gather for our annual Christmas Eve Communion service.  That time together is very special and usually runs about 30-45 minutes.  Bring the family and share together in a quiet reflective time of celebration.   So, mark your calendars!  Please refer to the bulletin for the other dates and things to remember for the month of December.

In the words of the angel on that night so long ago, let us come together this Sunday and truly understand God’s peace and see how Christ demonstrated His good will toward all mankind on the cross.

As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”                       II Timothy 2:15

Humbly Yours,

Bro. Steve
