From Your Pastor's Heart - February 26, 2017

Good Morning Family!

What a wonderful time of fellowship is always had at our Winter Banquet.  This year is no exception.  I have seen the heart and effort that goes into these events and I am so thankful for those who coordinate, purchase, cook, decorate, and serve.

A special “thank you” goes out to Tracy Hudson who pulls this thing together with much help by so many of the other ladies.   I am not even going to attempt to list everyone; I would invariably miss a name.  But, know my thanks go to you for your “above and beyond” service in putting on the Banquet.  Great job, ladies!

Today, we turn to chapter 4 of Paul’s Letter to the church at Ephesus.  Paul will begin making application of the truths he has been talking about in the first three chapters.  He has been revealing the mystery of the church and her precious promises from God for power and resources to live the Christian life; now he helps us put that into practice.

Unity is the theme today for the Body of Christ; not unity for unity’s sake, but unity around Biblical truth to please the Lord.  We will recognize the unity we have in Christ, how to work on preserving unity, and growing together in unity as all the parts of the body work together and not against one another.

As I preface sermons many times, I believe that this church has the unity thing going very well.  There is a real spirit of oneness and vision here at FBCCF.  There is always room for improvement though; because we never quite arrive, do we?  So, we dive in today and ask the Lord to show us ways to be better at what we are called to do.

As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15

Humbly Yours,

Bro. Steve
