From Your Pastor's Heart - February 4, 2018

Good Morning Family!

As you may have noticed, we have not returned to our “Greatest Story Ever Told” sermon series on Sunday mornings.  We took a break from our preaching through the Gospels in a chronological fashion at Thanksgiving.  At that time, we went into the holidays and focused on gratitude and the birth of Christ.

I had planned on returning to the series by now, but the Lord has not brought me back there quite yet.  I believe He is taking us through a time of encouragement regarding our relationship with Him as a church and as individuals during our sermon times lately.

Last week, we spoke about the Lord’s Supper and today we will flesh out this aspect of forgiveness.  Forgiveness is something most people desire to receive and give.  I say most because there are some who are so blinded by their bitterness or narcissism, that they are incapable of either giving or receiving this attribute.  Regardless, the greatest need of every human is to be forgiven by the Lord.

That is after all the essence of our salvation.  Christ died on the cross, He shed His blood for the forgiveness of sin.  Today, we will look at the topic of forgiveness.

This week I continue to press this in my letter one more time because it is so important and it is something that many of you as a church asked for us to do… don’t forget to sign up for the Church Family Fellowship Groups.  I had hoped this would be widely embraced by the adults in our fellowship.  These groups are open to everyone and we want to make certain that we all participate in getting to know one another better and better as the years go by.  The only way you will be left out of this effort is if you leave yourself out and don’t sign up.  I want to strongly encourage you to take advantage of this great time of fellowship once per month with a Fellowship Group.  Groups will be formed very soon.  You will not regret being a part of this ministry.

As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”                          II Timothy 2:15

Humbly Yours,

Dr. Steven Gann

Your Shepherd of the Hills
