From Your Pastor's Heart - January 25, 2015

Good Morning Family!

First thing today:

This afternoon, we will have the first Discovering the “First Family” Membership Class of 2015.  This class is for those who would like to know more about what membership at FBCCF means.  The class is about an hour in length and begins at 5:30pm.  It is held in the Education/Office Building in the large north room.

This is the class that we ask individuals to attend if they are considering membership or maybe simply want to know more about FBCCF.  Our most important objective in Discovering the “First Family” Membership is to make certain that individuals understand the Gospel and have a relationship with Jesus Christ.  We also want them to get a good idea of the great family of folks and our mission here at FBCCF.  Immediately following the class, we will have the evening service at 6:30pm in the sanctuary as we continue in our journey through I John.

I see most of you carrying your Bibles to church.  So, I want to commend you for that.  I also want to challenge you.  As I preach, I would encourage you to jot notes or underline passages in your Bibles that are pertinent to the teaching that day.  Use your Bible; it is your manual for life.  I know we have pew Bibles, but those can never take the place of your own as you grow deeper and deeper into God’s Word.

As we study God’s Word together, it is good to have it in front of your eyes, as you hear the Word taught and preached, to see it for yourself.  Also, take note of some of the passages I may refer to that we don’t actually turn to and read in a sermon.  I give these to you for further study.  I have been through them in my preparation to preach and deem them as very important to the subject matter of the message and so I give them to you as supplemental reading should you choose to dig deeper.

God’s Word is His written revelation that is in black and white for all time.  It never changes, it is truth, its veracity cannot be challenged, it is without any error, and it is all-sufficient for all things to us as pertaining to growing in godliness and growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior.  It is God’s Word to YOU!

As always, my prayer is that we would all Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”    II Timothy 2:15.

Humbly Yours,

Bro Steve

Dr. Steven Gann, Your Shepherd
