From Your Pastor's Heart - January 31, 2016

Good Morning Family!

What a great evening we had at our first new Wednesday Night program for children and youth.  It was great to be in our new groups and have several new teachers and leaders involved.  It was also a great thing to see even more adults involved demonstrating their compassion and concern for the lives of these kids in our church family and from the community.

Huge thanks go to those who showed up to get a feel for the volunteer positions for which they will be responsible for on a somewhat rotating basis as helpers and leaders in the kitchen, bus, and playground.  We want to make this a very safe environment for the many children which the Lord has brought our way on Wednesdays.

I also want you to take note of the refurbishing of several areas and rooms in our Office and Education Building.  If you have not already done so, please take a tour of the rooms upstairs and downstairs.  The changes have been done with a close eye on budget and doing what we can do to get the most out of every dollar spent on paint and wall décor that teaches the truths of Scripture in expressive ways that will speak to the kids.

The “new” furniture in the rooms is not new at all.  The youth room was equipped through a local thrift store and the colorful chairs that are in one room now and will be appearing in several of the other kids’ rooms are chairs that FBCCF already had.  They received a “facelift” with a few cans of spray paint from some of our ladies on this past Thursday.  Thanks, girls!  You did a wonderful job! More colorful chairs are in the works in the coming week or so.  Thanks are given to the Lord who was gracious to provide us with some warm days with which we could paint outside.

As we ask the Lord to bless the ministry of this church, we want to be diligent to make the most of the resources with which He has blessed us.  I believe our church family, more than any other I have ever known, is a wonderful steward of the resources and facilities that make up our buildings and grounds.  As spring approaches, we will be looking at a few tasks we need to accomplish to set in motion some things for future planning of land and facility use.  All of this is to continue the work of helping us to provide a LIGHTHOUSE for people to learn and be discipled in their walk with Christ.

Keep praying and keeping staying focused on our mission of carrying out the Great Commission! It is all about honoring and lifting up Christ and His Word to show those in our community that He is indeed their only hope!

As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”   II Timothy 2:15

Humbly Yours,

Bro Steve
