From Your Pastor's Heart - January 8, 2017

Good Morning Family!

I want to first thank all of you for supporting the “FBCCF Loren Easley Christmas Missions Offering”.  Funds will be collected through today, January 8th, toward our goal. This year, the proceeds will go toward the overseas missionary that we support known as “The Fisherman”.  The latest updates on his work are on the bulletin board outside the church office.  Our goal this year was $400.  At the end of December in our month end report(which is available on the table in the foyer), we were only about $47.49 away from our goal.  Since, we missed a Sunday in December, we have extended the giving period for this special missions offering through today.  I am confident we will make our goal.  This will go through Team Expansion, the sending authority for “The Fisherman”.   Mark your donations to this fund clearly on your offering envelope.

I also want to thank those of you who gave to our family this Christmas, you always are so generous to us.  For these gifts, we thank you and assure you that many important needs were met for the Ganns this year.  The gifts were very timely and much appreciated.

I want you to begin praying with me today about the coming year for FBCCF.  I believe the Lord has some new directions and attitudes we must begin to cultivate in our body to make us even stronger and more effective than we presently are.  I have never been a part of a family of God and leaders that are more willing to move alongside their shepherd and pray for him and support him as much as you all do.  Pray for me that I will move only where God wants us to go and that we all will receive even more clarity for our mission as we move forward.

We are battling the reign of darkness in this world and specifically in our community in the lives of those to which God has called us to minister without flinching in the face of seemingly insurmountable “odds”.  But, we do not serve a God of “odds making” or “chance”.  We serve a God of “Yes” and “Amen” as we strive to bring light into the darkness that surrounds us.  We are called to put on the full armor of God and go to the battle and that is what we must do daily.  This will enable us to see victory in our own lives and relationships as we shine our light for all around us to see.  Let’s make sure we put a new bulb in the old lighthouse this year at FBCCF!

As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”  II Timothy 2:15

Humbly Yours,

Bro. Steve
