From Your Pastor's Heart - July 23, 2017

Good Morning Family,

God is simply amazing!  I never know how He is going to pull things together and He always does.  This time He did it in an amazing way!

The payments we needed to make on the new AC-furnace units were $6,175 to start the project and then at the completion of the job, we are to pay $6,175.  So, our goal for the Chest of Joash offering was $4000.  Last Sunday, I had given you a final offering total of the amount the Lord provided, but a few more dollars came in later.  Lo and behold, the final amount the Lord provided through the Body is $6,184!  That is $9 more than we needed for our final payment.  Now, we will not need to even temporarily borrow any funds from ourselves from our designated Scholarship fund!

How incredible is this that we each listened to the Lord in regard to our specific gift and then He worked it out to within $9 of the need!  His ways are always beyond me, that is what makes Him so wonderful.  As a church body, we express our gratitude to Him for letting us get in on what He is doing in our midst.  Even in something that can be as mundane as AC repairs, He can make it something wonderful!  The long needed renovation project begins this Wednesday and so as a result there will be no activities Wednesday night this week.  The project will be completed by next Sunday; and this being the hottest week of the year so far!  Praise Him!

Tonight, I want to expose you to the life of one of the great preachers of the past whose legacy lives on today in his writings and at the historic Metropolitan Church in London, England.  I mention and quote him often in sermons and it occurred to me that you might be unfamiliar with his life and legacy.  So, tonight, we will share together in a docu-drama on the life of Charles Haddon Spurgeon.  I believe every Christian should be aware of the ministry of this Baptist man of God from 19th century England.  And so, I hope you will attend tonight.  The film’s run time is right at an hour and so it will take our entire time this evening.  I am excited to share it with you so that, if you don’t know of him, you can know who I am talking about the next time I quote Spurgeon in a sermon.

As always, my prayer is that we would all Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”        II Timothy 2:15.

Humbly Yours,

Bro. Steve
