From Your Pastor's Heart - July 24, 2016

Good Morning Family,

In my letter last week, I mentioned the police officer ambush killings in Dallas.  Then, before you had even read your bulletin last week, three more officers were gunned down in Baton Rouge.  None of us are certain when this will pass, if ever.  If this becomes a new normal, our country is in deeper trouble that we had anticipated.  We must continue to prayer fervently and consistently for our nation and those affected by the violence.

On a good note, VBS was a tremendous success.  We had more kids come this year than previous years recently.  I am writing this letter to you on Thursday morning and as of Wednesday night, we had 60 children at VBS!  What a wonderful week of ministry to the children and their families as well!  A huge thanks goes to all of our workers and leaders who taught, shepherded and fed the kids.

This morning in our service, we will take a few moments and recognize our Bible teachers and leaders for their service to the Body as they lead in the study of God’s Word each week.  This church is greatly blessed by very qualified and dedicated teachers of the Bible.  I am not just paying lip service.  I am extremely grateful to our Lord for how well He has blessed this church with very capable leaders.  We have well more than our share of Bible scholars and for that I am very thankful.  Thank you, teachers and leaders!

Today, we will also thank those who lead us in worship weekly.  We are also very blessed to have godly musicians here at FBCCF.  We will honor them as well.  Music is an integral part of our worship and they are always prepared to give their best in service to the Lord.  The reality is that they do not play for you, but as unto the Lord, to assist you in your worship of His Holy Name.  Thank them today.

God is surely doing His work among us at FBCCF.  It is exciting to be a part of such a dear church family rich in devotion and dedication to our Lord.

As always, my prayer is for you to, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”  II Timothy 2:15

Humbly Yours,

Bro. Steve
