From Your Pastor's Heart - July 26, 2015

Good Morning Family,

What a good summer we have had!  It has been hot and wet, but good nonetheless.  It is so exciting to live in this time that we do.  I am so thankful that we serve a God who is always active in the lives of His people and His church, locally and around the world.

It is a good thing to see God leading in our lives and ministering to us as we carry out His mission here in our families, in our church, and in our community.  I see the concern for the work of the Gospel in your faces and hear it in your voices as we gather for worship and teaching and also as we gather to do ministry together.

If you do not know of the heart for the Lord and for others in this church, it could be that you need to take a deeper step into ministry here at FBCCF.  I am so thankful the Lord has planted us here to grow with you.  As we grow, letting the seed of the Gospel sink deep into the soil of our hearts, we will see the Lord continue to supply our need, bless His ministry, and grow our hearts together.  There is truly nothing like being a part of a local church that is focused on the Lord and His all-sufficient Word.

I truly believe that we need each other as we navigate this world.  The darkness can be overwhelming at times with so many forces for evil and so many fronts on which we seem to be battling.  The evil from the worldwide stage and the devastating effects of evil in the homes of those in our community are many and varied.  But, the power of our God is from everlasting to everlasting and no evil will stand before it.  He alone has dominion over all and is ruler over all at all times.

We discussed this on Wednesday night and even though at any point in history when the darkness seems to be winning, it never really is.  As Rich Mullins taught in his song, “Our God is an awesome God!”  He reigns from heaven above, with wisdom, power, and love!  Our God is an awesome God!”

As always, my prayer is that we would all Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”    II Timothy 2:15.

Humbly Yours,

Bro Steve

Dr. Steven Gann, Your Shepherd
