From Your Pastor's Heart - June 10, 2018

Good Morning Family!

This year the VBS Event theme is going to be…

VBS 2018THE GREAT EXCHANGE

We will be taking the students to the Great Passion Play in Eureka Springs on Thursday, July 12th and spending most of the day there. They will be able to visit several Bible Museums and see a section of the “Iron Curtain”.  Also, there in the complex is the Christ of the Ozarks statue standing 67 feet tall above the trees looking out over the Ozark Mountains.

Later in the day they will take a guided tour of the Holy Land Experience where they will see a full-size replica of Moses’ Tabernacle and be taught by one actors on-site dressed as an Old Testament priest. Also, in the Holy Land Experience is a replica of a first century inn and stable. They will also hear “the Apostle Peter” speak to them from alongside the “Sea of Galilee”. Finally, our students will visit the “Upper Room” where Jesus shared the Lord’s Supper with His disciples.

The students will enjoy dinner on the grounds and then sit for teaching at the Potter’s House. An interactive experience where a first century style potter works his craft on the potter’s wheel as he teaches from the Scriptures. Then, capping off the day later that evening, our kids will experience the Great Passion Play, the number one attended outdoor drama in America. It re-enacts the events of Jesus’ life from the raising of Lazarus through His crucifixion and resurrection concluding with His ascension.

The students will be taken home and then picked up the next morning, Friday July 13th, for a day of teaching and fun at the church. The day will run from 10:30 am to 7:15pm with three sessions of Bible teaching and a late afternoon round of Laser Tag. If you see yourself as being able and willing to help in the kitchen or corralling kids with us, please contact Tracy Hudson 417-425-4766 or Robin Gann at 816-616-0646.

As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15

Humbly Yours,

Bro Steve
