From Your Pastor's Heart - June 12, 2016

Good Morning!

Today, during our service I am going to ask each of you to take a rubber wristband as a prayer reminder this next week.

Prayer is so important in the life of our church and in our lives individually before Christ. But, this week I have a special request of you. I am asking you to remember our students as they go to camp. We are going to the Ark Christian Retreat Center in Eagle Rock, Missouri. It is a special place designed and built by the Loren Easley Foundation for churches and individuals to use for spiritual renewal. As you know, Loren Easley was the first permanent pastor our church ever had and he was here from 1966 to 1980. So, it is awesome for us to be able to take the kids somewhere that has a rich Christian heritage and also a link to the life of our own church.

This week, the 14th through the 16th, we will be away studying and worshipping and playing a little along the way as well. I ask you to pray for the leaders who are going and for the students as well, as we challenge them to live for Christ.

We will have intensive times of teaching with them as we will look at God’s Word and how to seek after God with their whole heart. It is a time to get away from distractions and focus on what God is speaking to their hearts through His Word, His Spirit, and His people. I am so excited to be able to go and teach for them this week. I am also very thankful for our adult leaders who are going to stay for the duration and lead the kids in teams and for those who will be traveling down at different times during the camp to cook or help lead in other areas.

I would also ask one more thing in addition to prayer. There are still a few funding needs for this camp. Not every child can pay and so I am asking for you to please consider what the Lord may lay on your heart to give toward that endeavor. The Lord can take any amount and make much of it. We rest in His hands for provision.

As always, my prayer is that we would all, "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth." II Timothy 2:15

Humbly Yours,

Bro. Steve
