From Your Pastor's Heart – March 22, 2015

Good Morning Family!

It is staying lighter now in the evenings and I want to extend an invitation for those in the Body of Christ who have maybe not attended on Sunday night and Wednesday nights for a while to come on back.  It stays light now until after the meeting time and so there is no driving home in the dark.

The Lord understands our physical limitations; that is for certain.  But, I just wanted to put the invite out there to remind you that there are wonderful things happening in our Sunday evening and Wednesday evening meeting times, if you are physically able to attend.  If it is a question of a ride for either night, please contact me and I will make sure we get a ride for you.  I want to make certain anyone who wants to gather for the study of God’s Word has a safe and comfortable way to church and home.

At present, we are wrapping up a study on Sunday evenings at 6:30pm in our sanctuary in the book of I John.  It is a more informal time than the preaching time on Sunday mornings with more interactive discussion among the body as I teach.  I anticipate we will continue on into II and III John now as that would be a natural progression for us.

On Wednesdays at 6:30pm, we gather in the large northeast room in the Office/Education building.  Of late we have been studying the Biblical doctrine of the Person of God.  On a usual Wednesday night, we will mention prayer needs and then pray together as a group.  No one has to pray out loud, if they are uncomfortable.  Usually, a few folks pray and then I will close our prayer time.  After that, we will work through our Bible study for the night with a lot of group discussion.  No one is put on the spot, each one is free to participate in discussion as they are comfortable.

I wanted to mention these meeting opportunities and let you know that if you are not attending, you are missed.  And again, I know that those of you with physical limitations have extra considerations with which to deal.  The Lord knows your need and I believe He has directed me to bring this letter to you today to make you aware that you are missed and that we will do our very best to make a way for you to be able to be with other believers for study and fellowship, if that is your desire.

One last note, I am setting up a system of calling through the active membership here at FBCCF for special events, weather cancellations, or just a call to encourage.  At the most, these messages will be no more than a 2 minute recording from me to inform and encourage you from the Word from time to time.  I believe this will be a great way to keep us all informed and on the same page for events and worship opportunities.

I am working this week on attempting to upload our church directory into the database, so I can send out an initial “Hello there!” to see how it works.  So, don’t be surprised if you get a phone message from me in the next couple of weeks letting you know the system is up and running.  I am really excited about this new way to contact you and encourage you during the week.

As always, my prayer is that we would all Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”    II Timothy 2:15.

Humbly Yours,

Bro Steve

Dr. Steven Gann, Your Shepherd
