From Your Pastor's Heart - March 8, 2015

Good Morning Family,

Believe it or not, the 50th anniversary of the Lord’s mission for this church is upon us.  On May 2, 1965, the first service was held in the little stone covered building next door to Belinda’s shop.  That morning there were eleven in attendance at the first official service for the group of believers that the Lord had brought together to begin the new work in Cape Fair.

In the winter of 1964-65, Perry Keithley and his family followed the Lord’s clear leading in their lives to plant a church here in Cape Fair and by late spring 1965, the work had come to fruition.  With used pews, borrowed hymnals, and a donated piano; praise to the Lord was raised that morning and His Word was proclaimed in the little building down the street from where you sit this morning.

On Sunday May 3rd, we are going to celebrate the wonderful work of the Lord in this church that He has done in the past and that which He has yet to accomplish through us today and tomorrow.  We will put all our efforts that morning toward the celebration service and will not have Sunday School that morning, but will have worship beginning at 10:00 followed by a carry in dinner together.

As the next few weeks come to pass, more information about this and some of the planning activities will be revealed and some of you may be contacted to lend a hand toward the effort.  So, be ready to do your part to put together a very special day.

This morning, however, we embark on our journey through Paul’s letter to the church at Rome.  In this groundbreaking book, Paul lays out the most complete explanation of the doctrines of the New Testament church all in one place.

If you will dedicate yourself to this book through the duration of our study, your grasp of doctrine will increase and your appreciation for the great cost for your salvation will drive you to your knees.

As always, my prayer is that we would all Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”    II Timothy 2:15.

Humbly Yours,

Bro Steve

Dr. Steven Gann, Your Shepherd
