From Your Pastor's Heart - May 22, 2016

Good Morning!

I want to encourage you to keep your bulletin week to week as it has invaluable information in it to help keep you connected to what is going on at FBCCF.

I want to draw your attention to something coming up on Sunday, June 5.  Our deacons met this past Wednesday and scheduled a Sunday to celebrate bringing Steve Llewellyn on as an active deacon.  Steve has served in a previous sister Baptist church as a deacon and so he comes on our team now ready to go.  We are so thankful for Steve and Elaine and their ministry to the body since they have become a part of this family of God.

Their desire to see people grow in their relationship to Christ is very evident as they both are in our Bible teaching program as leaders.  Steve leads a Sunday School class and Elaine is the leader of the Thursday Morning Women’s Bible Study here at the church at 10:00.  They have also taken on many more responsibilities in the Body and personally in their ministry to this church and community.

On June 5th, we are going to emphasize the aspect of servanthood, not just for deacons, but for all of us as we celebrate the example Christ gave to us.  I would encourage you today, to take a look at the deacon page in your bulletin.  It is there every week for informational purposes, but after a time it can become invisible after seeing it week by week.  I would ask you to take a look at it and re-familiarize yourself with the deacons’ responsibilities and contact information.

I recently sat down our deacons and we re worked the Family Ministry Plan and we will share more detail on that on June 5th.  Needless to say, we want to make sure everyone knows their deacon and is aware of how to contact them should the need arise.  They (and I) are here to care for you and we want to make sure we are doing that to the best of our ability.

As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”  II Timothy 2:15

Humbly Yours,

Bro Steve
