From Your Pastor's Heart - October 18, 2015

Greetings Family!

Today’s text is one of great encouragement.  Do you need encouragement?  I know I do.  I need encouragement from time to time and more often than not.

We live in a hopeless world.  If we, as Christians, did not have the Scriptures and were left to try and guess how things turn out, we would be hopeless as well.  But, we are not hopeless.

We do not have to wonder whether The Father is in control.   We do not have to wonder if Jesus cares for us.  We do not have to wonder if the Spirit helps us in our weakness.  We are assured these things all throughout Scripture.

Today, I pray you leave here encouraged greatly from the message in Romans chapter 8.  I was greatly blessed in preparing the message, because in a pastor’s preparation, he digs deep into the text to attempt to prayerfully relay the meaning and intent of the passage to His people.  I was blessed with encouragement in doing so.

I don’t know about you, but it is easy to feel hopeless in all of the craziness that can sometimes not only surround our world, but in the craziness that is sometimes called “our lives”.  Know that nothing that comes your way is not filtered through the hand of God first and does indeed work for your ultimate good and His Glory.   I am fully aware that saying those words are a lot easier than living them when you are the one in the dark time.

But, still they must be said, because they are true

As always, my prayer is that we would all “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”    II Timothy 2:15.

Humbly Yours,

Bro Steve

Dr. Steven Gann

Your Shepherd
