From Your Pastor’s Heart - September 18, 2016

Good Morning Family,

We are just a few weeks from finishing our series in Paul’s Letter to the Church at Rome.  This morning, we are beginning chapter 15.  I anticipate we will conclude sometime in October; most likely the 9th.

We started our journey through the book of Romans on February 15th, 2015!  I pray you all have seen Romans as maybe never before.  What a Biblical gem it is!  A wealth of doctrine and practical application all packed into a wonderful, loving letter from Paul the Apostle to the church at Rome and to us centuries later.

Some of it, I know, has been difficult to hear and, believe it or not, even more difficult for me to preach.  The words of the text have challenged and changed me, as I pray they have you.  In the course of our lives in ministry together, we will travel through many books of the Bible over the coming years.  What a journey lies ahead!

Today, Paul continues his thoughts began in chapter 14 as we look at one more week of “Critics in the Kingdom”-part 3.  He will close his thoughts out today on this subject that he has addressed here and in I Corinthians.  He will give us some examples to encourage us as we live our lives for others; and for the building up of the Body of Christ-universal and local.

I want to add a word here regarding our choir working on a few pieces to share at Christmas time.  Thanks to those who showed up last Sunday at 5:30pm for the initial meeting.  I do know that many in the body here had family plans that day and could not attend the first time.  I would however, encourage you to begin making your way to these times of rehearsal.  I will be there to sing with you and would like to see anyone who loves to sing come be a part of the choir for the holidays.  I know there has to be a more of you out there who can come and sing with us!

As always, my prayer is for you to, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”    II Timothy 2:15

Humbly Yours,

Bro Steve
