From Your Pastor's Heart - September 3, 2017

Good Morning Family,

What a wonderful Lord we worship and serve!  Everyday He desires to walk with and lead you and me.  What a wonderful Savior is Jesus!

It is no wonder that, over the centuries, songs and poems and books have been written about Him, His incredible attributes, and the nature of His character.  We are in the very beginning of reading through and studying the four most precious books ever written about the Life of our Lord.  Four men, as they were moved by the Holy Spirit, penned words about His eternal past, His conception, His parents, His birth, His life, His ministry, His Death and Resurrection; and many of His mighty works along the way here on this earth.

The story of Jesus was told by Matthew the government employee, Mark the young protégé of Peter, Luke the physician, and John the professional angler.  Men from all stripes of life who walked with Jesus and learned daily from Him were able to tell others of the incredible Lord that was theirs.  In the Father’s plan, we learn from these men what it was like to be with Jesus daily and see His mighty works in their lives and in the lives of others.

Here is the truth of the matter for us today.  The same can be said of each of us.  We are able to walk with Jesus every day and learn to grow in our relationship to Him from His Holy Word written down for us in black and white and RED letters.  We too, can know Him just as they did because He desires to work in our lives in exactly the same way.  He wants us to be able to talk about, speak about, and even write about Him to others as He leads us through His Holy Spirit that indwells every true disciple.  And we can see Him active in our lives; changing us to be more like Him and allowing Him to use us to be His witnesses to others just like the first disciples.

As always, my prayer is that we would all Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”  II Timothy 2:15.

Humbly Yours,

Bro Steve
