Good Morning Family!
This is the Sunday after Easter and… HE IS STILL RISEN!!!
I am thankful we serve the Eternal One, the Risen Christ who reigns forever more. As we prepare to move forward now into the coming summer months, I am so excited about what the Lord might choose to do through us to reach out to our community.
I met someone this last week that shared an important distinction in ministry. He said, “We should not do ministry for our community, but we should do ministry with the people around us.” I may be a little dense, but I am still processing that slight word change. I think it may mean that we are called to seek to engage with our community just as the early church did in doing all we can to make certain that they know we love them and that we do that with the Gospel front and center.
I am believing the Lord is calling us to some new frontiers here in Cape Fair and in how we do what we do. I am just not exactly sure what that is looking like. I just want to stay very transparent with you as the Lord walks us through some new possibilities ahead and as he helps me to seek His vision as your pastor.
To help us begin to imagine, our friends, Kim and Laurel Harvey from Convoy of Hope will be with us for a Sunday of vision-casting, development, and idea planting on a Sunday coming up soon. As of this writing, we have not settled on a date yet. But, hopefully this morning, I may have that for you in the announcements.
As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15
Humbly Yours,
Bro. Steven
