Good Morning Family!

Last week, I ended my bulletin letter by saying, “In all things, the Lord has our back, and He guides us, and for that I am immensely grateful, more than you could know!  His providence is to always be trusted.”

This was proven to be true once again. He never fails us when we rely on Him and seek His face.  At the conclusion of the service last week, a meeting of Finance, Church Council, and Trustees was held.  I also announced that anyone who desired to stay and listen in was more than welcome.  This meeting was to discuss the reason why I had asked that we postpone the church-wide vote on the possible purchase of the adjacent land involving the 3.6 acre abandoned mobile home park and land behind the church.

Over the course of the week before April 21st, more information came to light after a concerted amount of prayer by many.  It was discovered that it would be impossible for us to safely clear the land ourselves.  So, we received a bid from a very trusted source.  Even with a substantial and very gracious discount for FBCCF, that cost along with the purchase price would have put our total investment at a total of 2-3 times beyond the value of the land itself.  This is simply not a wise move.  I requested and received the green light by the committees that met to contact the owner on behalf of the church and tell him we would have to pass, which I did last Sunday night.

So, we will just continue to pray that the owner will at least see fit to clean the area up and we will also continue to pray that the Lord will keep the community safe as it is a very dangerous area down in there.  We do see young people coming in and out of the abandoned mobile home park from time to time and that is concerning.

As we gather this morning, let us have hearts of gratitude for His guidance and providence that is always available when we keep our eyes on Jesus.

As always, my prayer is that we would all Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”      II Timothy 2:15.
