Good Morning Family!
Here we go, sliding into the end of summer. I know it’s very hot and still summer-like, but it will be “back to school” time here in just a few weeks. The last weeks for family vacations are winding down and we’ll all be back in our places with bright shiny faces 😊
This Tuesday, August 6th is a Tuesday 1:3 ABF Night (Adult Bible Fellowship). I really look forward to those weeks with some extra teaching and fellowship time. As of now, I think I know where I am going, but that can always change for me, as you well know.
I mentioned in my sermon last week the four emphases the students had for VBS, and so I am pretty sure I am going to share along those lines for the next four sessions of Tuesday 1:3 ABF for August and September. The difference will be that we will cover the passages geared for our group to help us understand these four wonderful and amazing aspects of the nature and character of Jesus: His Power, His Compassion, His Light, and His Authority. I am looking forward to revisiting these four incredible Gospel accounts and discuss them together with you.
As we do, I hope our times together not only on Tuesdays, but on Sundays will help us all lean into Jesus more and more. I don’t know about you, but I need Him more than ever these days. I want Him to help me see that I serve Him and as I do, I rest on His promises of peace and guidance and not my feelings. He is always faithful to each one of us.
As always, my prayer is that we would all “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15.
Your Shepherd of the Hills,
Bro. Steven
