Good Morning Family, "Lots of Information here folks!"
Once again, I begin my letter with words of gratitude. Heartfelt thanks go out to the 20+ folks who came for the "Hanging of the Greens" last Sunday evening. So much was able to be accomplished in just a few hours. The sanctuary and buildings decor is the result and I believe it looks just great! Thanks everyone!
Now to a bit of scheduling or "re-scheduling" I suppose... I may have made a snap holiday scheduling decision this year and have now re-thought one aspect of what was decided. After hearing further input from a few of the family here, we will be adding back into the church schedule our traditional Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion Service @ 6:00pm. This gathering usually lasts about 45 minutes and includes carols, scripture, and Communion ending with a traditional singing of Silent Night and lighting of individual candles. It is a very special time in the life of our church, and we don't want to pass that by. I'll explain a little more in the service this morning how I arrived at this.
We will still however have the Morning Service on the 24th and we will also be offering the Lord's Supper at that service as well for those who cannot come back that evening.
I think it has been a few years since we actually used this name for our Christmas Offering, but its time to get back to using it... our annual Loren Easley Christmas Offering is always taken each year throughout December. Named after the early pastor of First Baptist Church that dedicated himself and his family to minister here in Cape Fair for many years to lay a great foundation; we give in honor of His Holy Spirit empowered ministry to reach this community. Our giving this year will be directed toward our General Association of Regular Baptist Churches - Regular Baptist International.
This is the international outreach arm of our association that supplies missionaries and overseas ministries with literature assistance, training, and physical support. Every dollar collected this Christmas Offering will go toward the direct support of supplies, training, and missionaries. Seek the Lord how you would give toward this effort above your normal offering to FBCCF and the outcome will be His desire.
Today, we are at the Second Sunday of Advent with our theme, LOVE. Join us as we "Rediscover the Gift of LOVE".
As always, my prayer is that we would all "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth." II Timothy 2:15
God Bless Us, Every One,
Bro. Steven
