Good Morning Family!
It is not often we get to worship together on New Year’s Day, but here we are! It was also a great pleasure to see many of you last Sunday here in the building that were able to break away and be here. I also extend a thank you to those who were needed at their family get-togethers and not able to be with us; but were here in spirit and maybe joined us on the Livestream, I know. I pray each one of you had a very Merry Christmas.
A new year is upon us and a new start to many things. The calendar tells us we are one year further down the line in our lives and a year further from the First Advent of Jesus. But guess what? 2023 also means we are a year closer to His Second Advent and even closer to the time in which He will come for His church before He sets foot on the earth to right all things and settle all accounts.
That is what I would like for us to focus on this morning. We just spent the last five Sundays celebrating Christ’s First Coming and today, we will reflect upon His imminent return! What better way to start the year than with the prayer that this may be the year! “Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus”, are the very last thoughts in your Bible. And they set the stage for His arrival at any time for His church. Let’s approach 2023 like the time is near… for it indeed is!
As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15
Humbly Yours,
Bro. Steven
