Good Morning Family!
Well, 2024 has gotten off to an interesting start to say the least. Last week we saw some of the coldest weather that we usually receive over the winter. I am hopeful that next week, the weather will not be the main story affecting so many of us and our daily activities.
In Job 38:22, the Lord asks Job, “Have you entered the treasury of snow?”. I love how the author of the book of Job records these words attributed to the Lord Himself. What a picturesque way of expressing God’s control and command over every aspect of weather! Also, snow in scripture, many times is symbolic of purity and forgiveness. Isaiah 1:18 says, “Though your sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow;”
Even those of you who are not fans of winter weather, even when it causes our joints to ache, or our backsides to be bruised when we fall because of it; you must admit the beauty of it as it falls and the quiet it brings as it blankets the earth is quite amazing. To be outside in the woods on a snowy day where all you can hear is the snow falling is, I think, as beautiful as this old world gets. Snow falling, although a hindrance to getting out and about, is a reminder that God’s grace and forgiveness covers His children.
This morning after the service, we will gather in the Fellowship Hall for lunch and our first Quarterly Business/Ministry Meeting of the year. Even if you are here and were unable to bring anything to add to the potluck, please stay and enjoy lunch with us and then get caught up on all the happenings here at FBCCF. It is ALWAYS a great time of encouragement and fellowship.
As always, my prayer is that we would all “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15.
Your Shepherd of the Hills,
Bro. Steven
