Good Morning Family!

I went back to look at what I wrote in my letter to you in the first Sunday of 2025 and what I said at the beginning of last year holds still more true at the beginning of 2026…

Each year, Robin, Holly, and I are more amazed at how much the Lord blesses this little band of believers.  He just continues to work and do what He wants to do among us as each one of us remains faithful to His calling to collectively be a lighthouse to the Cape Fair community.  As I have said so many times and will continue to say, there are simply no words to express my gratefulness to the Lord for what He has done and continues to do here among us.

We have seen, this past year His blessing in many ways to which we have all been witness.  We have seen some ministries take off and some are in progress, while others are in a rebuilding or possibly retooling phase.  But all the while, His hand is sure and the work is fulfilling.

We have walked through a few losses this past year and those were very taxing, but God is good in that we can trust in His care, ongoing purposes, and eternal promises.  Even on New Year’s Eve, Heaven gained the always faithful Marilyn Fortner.  She and her young family at the time were here from the very beginning and her service to First Baptist in many positions, and as Sunday School Secretary when we arrived was a blessing over many years.  She always seemed positive and trusted the Lord in losses and in gains in her family.

The Lord has brought many new church family members over the years, as He did last year and we anticipate He will continue to do so to equip us to keep on mission here in our community, region, and as we think beyond our sphere.  I am so grateful for each one of you and the part you play in this great endeavor.  And we are happy to call you, “Friends”!

As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”               II Timothy 2:15
