Good Morning Family!
Here we go diving headfirst into 2023. And the reality is that we have no choice! The days come and go, the years pass by on the calendar whether we want them to or not. Time is relentless, and yet it is a blessing to have the time to spend with family, friends, productive work, ministry endeavors, recreation from time to time and all the other things we plug into our schedules that are important to us.
J.R.R. Tolkien, author of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings once noted, “All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.” Scripture tells us that our lives are full of divine appointments. We are to always submit our calendar to the Lord and not think we can leave Him behind to go pursue just any old thing.
James tell us, “…14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. 15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.”
I would do well to listen to James more in 2023… than I did in 2022.
As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15
Humbly Yours,
