Good Morning Family!

I want to wish everyone a Happy Independence Day weekend.  Hopefully, we will all reflect on the goodness of God shown to the United States over the centuries.  From even before our founding, God’s almighty hand was evident as, in His Providence, He guided and guarded our progress from colonies to states and then to an independent Republic.

As we gather for worship today, let us consecrate ourselves anew to our responsibilities not only as citizens of these United States, but more importantly as citizens of the Kingdom of our Heavenly Father.  We are patriots of this country for certain, but a “far better country” awaits us…Hebrews 11:16.  As of this writing, I plan on reflecting on this biblical concept of dual citizenship this morning in our message.

As we ponder our responsibilities and stand in the gap here, we daily should be preparing for what God has in store for us there.  As our national founders left a national legacy, so our brothers and sisters in the faith who have gone on before us have left a lasting legacy in whose footsteps we follow while we occupy our place in this world as we look to the next.  Yes, the dream of freedom in America is ours to protect and steward; but the eternal promise of ultimate freedom and liberty in God’s Kingdom is that for which we desperately long.  And that will be our theme for today on this 250th Anniversary of God’s hand in leading this nation to freedom and independence.

Tonight, Sunday July 5th beginning at 7pm we will gather on the front lawn for our Annual FBCCF Independence Day Celebration.  Bring a lawn chair, enjoy some food, and then our team will light up the sky!

As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15

Humbly Yours,

Bro. Steven
