Good Morning Family!
I want to start out by thanking all of our volunteers behind and in front of the scenes today for covering so many bases while Robin, Holly, and I are away today at a family wedding this morning. We will be back later today but needed to be away from you this morning. Thanks to our AV Team for getting everything up and running today and also to our Chairman of Deacons, Paul Winfrey for taking on our Welcome, Announcements, and Church Family Prayer time in the morning service. Also, I am sure you will be blessed by Barney Munhollon bringing the Word today in my absence. It has been a while since Barney has taught in a Sunday Service and so I am grateful for him to be willing to step in for me.
I want to reiterate this… on the last Sunday June 30th, we will have a very full day. In the morning service, we will share together in a time of bringing on two men selected to be deacons. Eddie Harris and Clark Pond have been working closely with our Deacon Team to be ready to become an active part of the front line of primary care for the church body. I am excited to have these two men agree to become a part of an already great group of men who love and care for the “First” family. A short reception for Clark and Brenda and Eddie and Christina will follow in the Fellowship Hall that morning. Everyone will have permission to have dessert first that day before going out or home for lunch! Then, we’ll gather back again that night around 7pm for fireworks and food. Big day in store!
Also, I am excited for our VBS this year- “Wonder World - Amazed by Our Extraordinary Savior”. It will be a fun circus type of theme! It is open for students K-6th Grade and it is July 22-25, Mon-Thurs in the evenings. Our junior and senior high students will have their own summer event on a different date. Please see Tracy to see where you might fit in as a VBS volunteer.
As always, my prayer is that we would all “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15.
Your Shepherd of the Hills,
Bro. Steven
