Good Morning Family,

Spring has been slowly approaching and is now officially here as of today. With the warming temps will come the greening of our yards, the fields around us and the forest that surrounds us. As the buds begin to form on the trees which will eventually form into the leaves of many varieties, we will no longer be able to see too far into the woods as we drive through the scenic countryside on the roads in and out of Cape Fair.

I may be kind of unusual, but late Fall, Winter and very early Spring are my favorite times of year because you can clearly see out into the woods and notice things that you cannot see in “full bloom”. Its not that I don’t like the changing color of leaves in the fall, I dearly love that. Nor is it that I don’t appreciate the rustling of the leaves in the trees or a nice summer evening of locusts and a little heat now and again, I just like to be able to see my surroundings clearly.

I know there is probably an object lesson in there somewhere, but I don’t have the space in my letter here to flesh it out. Maybe what I am trying to say is that, although I am clearly no prophet, I believe we are entering a time in our lives collectively where we may be surprised by a few things we may not have seen coming even a month ago. The world has drastically changed and we, as the church must remain vigilant in ministry, focused on needs here in our community, while at the same time keeping our eyes open to the events on the world stage and looking for ways we can minister and “be the church” in that arena as well.

Keep praying and pressing on!

As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15
