Good Morning Family!
Today, we celebrate Palm Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week as Jesus rode into the city of Jerusalem as Messiah to begin the final chapter in His trek to the cross. No one, at the time, expected the events to take the drastic turn that they did. However, Jesus knew all along where all of this was leading.
The reality is that He knew this was His mission when He submitted to the Father’s will to be sent to be the Lamb of God to take away the sins of the world. Today, we will talk about this day in history and in the plan of God. Then, we will meet back here later in the week for the commemoration of Good Friday. This reflective service of music, scripture, and communion will take place at 6:30pm on the 29th. It usually lasts until around 7:15 and will end with us gathering together to take the Lord’s Supper as we remember His sacrifice.
Next Sunday… Easter Sunday will be the culmination of the week as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. We will gather at 8:30am in the Fellowship Hall for a breakfast put together by our Kitchen Team. Then, we will move into our Sunday School classes led by our fantastic teaching staff. At 10:30am, we will gather for worship and give the Lord our praise for His wonderful gift of Christ on our behalf and thank Him for the proof of Jesus’ authority as the Son of God, namely the resurrection!
Immediately after the morning service, we will have our Annual Easter Egg Hunt on the grounds for those students who were in attendance Easter morning. It is always a great time to watch our kiddos have fun in the sun.
As always, my prayer is that we would all “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15.
Your Shepherd of the Hills,
Bro. Steven
