Good Morning Family!
Today is Resurrection Day… Easter Sunday! Aside from Christmas, this is the day that changed all of history! Of course, without Christmas, there would be no Easter. But then again, without the resurrection, Christmas would be meaningless.
When Christ conquered death, He conquered it for every one of us. The desperation of the first disciples on Friday night turned to unimaginable joy on that Sunday morning. We do not worship a dead martyr, or a figure from history, we worship a Living Savior. He laid His life down for us and then had the power to take it up again. The resurrection is why we even exist as a church. The resurrection is the reason we do any kind of ministry. If Christ is not raised, then all we base our lives upon is senseless.
The reality of the resurrection is the exclamation point on the earthly life and sacrifice of Jesus. That being so, it should be the exclamation point of how we live our lives every day. So, I hope you will see the reality of this event and the importance that the resurrection should have in your life today and every day as we celebrate together this morning.
A huge thanks to our Kitchen Team for putting together such a great breakfast for us this morning. We really appreciate all of your hard work.
Also, due to the efforts of those in our Kids’ Ministry and all of you bringing candy and supplying this effort, we will have our Annual Easter Egg Hunt on the grounds for those students who were in attendance Easter morning. It is always a great time to watch our kiddos have such fun on this joyful morning.
As always, my prayer is that we would all “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15.
Your Shepherd of the Hills,
Bro. Steven
