Good Morning Family!
Thanks to the men who came very early to church to prepare the breakfast last week in honor of Mother’s Day. You are greatly appreciated. It was well attended!
Also a thanks to our church family and individuals who provided the gifts and flowers for our moms in the morning service! All were blessed by your generosity and kindness.
Today, we resume our series, “Foundations”. We will pick up with “The Household of Faith-part 2”. It is my conviction that we periodically need to reinforce the basics of the faith as found in the Scriptures. This series will serve to remind us all regarding the stand that the Word of God takes on the essentials. Along the way we will, by necessity, examine aberrations and false teachings in many of these areas that threaten families and local churches alike. 26 out of 27 books in the New Testament warn about the dangers of false teaching in the first century. Much more then are we to be on guard in the 21st century.
Next Sunday, May 24th, Memorial Day Sunday, we will take the end of our service and move it to the southeast side of the Bridgeport Bridge, down to the lake for baptism. So, we will ask all who are able to drive over that way to conclude the service with baptism. If you have trouble navigating the beach area, we will be certain to try to leave room for you to pull up and remain in your vehicle as you share in this special time as the Household of Faith.
As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15
