Good Morning Family!
This morning, May 24th, Memorial Day Sunday, we will be dedicating and erecting a flagpole in our courtyard area between the buildings. This flagpole was graciously and lovingly donated to our church by one of our members to commemorate those in our church family who have gone before us and who have faithfully served in any branch of the Armed Forces of the United States.
First Baptist Church takes very seriously the Christian principles and foundations laid by our forefathers who trusted in the Lord to bring about our independence. They accomplished this by declaring their dependence upon God as the grantor of citizens’ rights. The Lord is also the One to whom we answer and are to give an account for our responsibilities as citizens of not only our country, but first and foremost as citizens of His Kingdom. As we celebrate Memorial Day, we are a grateful people.
Also, we will take the end of our service and move it to the southeast side of the Bridgeport Bridge, down to the lake for baptism. So, we will ask all who are able to drive over that way to conclude the service with baptism. It might be good if you could carpool over that way as it is Memorial Weekend and there may be more than a few boat trailers out there in the parking area. Then, just come back to the church to pick up your car. If you have trouble navigating or walking on the beach area, we will be certain to try to leave room for you to pull up and remain in your vehicle as you share in this special time as the Household of Faith.
As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15
Humbly Yours,
