Good Morning Family!
Our Holiday Season kicks of next Sunday here at FBCCF! We will share together in our Annual Thanksgiving Church Family Luncheon immediately after the morning service on the 24th. I am looking forward to that time as we celebrate the goodness of God in our worship service and in our time around the tables afterward.
Thanksgiving and Christmas fall a week closer together than normal this year, so there will be no opportunity for a Sunday evening “Hanging of the Greens” as per usual. But, in any event, we will get our heads together and make certain the sanctuary is good to go for the beginning of Advent.
With our Thanksgiving service being November 24th, that will make our First Sunday of the Five Weeks of Advent fall on December 1. This year December has five Sundays and so we will go through the five themes of Advent to conclude on December 29th, the Sunday right after Christmas Day.
Also, we will of course share together on the evening of December 24th in our Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion Service. It is always a very special time for the church family to gather to focus on the birth of Christ on the most holy night of the year. So, plan on bringing those in your household to that very quiet reflection time as we celebrate His birth. Next week, we will include in the bulletin a complete holiday schedule.
As always, my prayer is that we would all “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15.
