Good Morning Family!

Today is the day!  Preparations will be underway all afternoon for the Fall Fish Fry this evening.  Pray for those who are involved in cooking, set up, and tear down.  Their hearts will be tired, but full as we see many come to be a part of an evening of fellowship, music, and testimony for Jesus.  I hope to see everyone there tonight beginning at 5:30pm for the serving of dinner and then the Pickers will play from 6-8pm.  Be sure to greet those that you do not know and extend a welcoming hand to them.

This morning, I do also want to extend a grateful heart for the many that came out to support our sister, Lana Mapes at her husband’s graveside service Monday night.  It was a time of encouragement and remembering for Lana and her family and I am so glad many of you came as the church family to come alongside her during this time.

As the group sang a few songs at the service out there at the cemetery, it was very moving to see her horses come to the fence, as her pasture backs right up to cemetery property.  I saw many in the crowd notice the horses as the horses all stopped in their tracks and listened intently as the sound of quietly singing voices drifted across the open field in their direction.  As soon as the singing was complete, they moved on.  It was as if the voices of worship of their Creator got their attention as well.

I also want to thank all of you for your involvement in the morning service last week.  It was encouraging to see us gather together in prayer and concern for our friends, family, and fellow citizens in the path if Hurricanes Helene and Milton.  Much prayer continued this week for those in the path of Milton as it reached landfall Wednesday evening.  Keep praying for and helping support recovery efforts as you can.  Pray for all of those involved in clean up and rescue whether our FEMA workers or organizations like Samaritan’s Purse.  www.samaritanspurse.org

This morning, we will wrap up our look at “Born for God’s Glory” the narrative of Jesus’ healing of the man born blind and his subsequent bold faith and witness for Christ in the face of withering criticism.  Today, we will see Jesus come alongside him for encouragement and also to speak a word of judgment against those who tried to silence the man.

As always, my prayer is that we would all Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”      II Timothy 2:15.
