Good Morning Family!
Needless to say, I am here this morning. Bro. Dale was previously scheduled to preach in my place this morning, but he and Judy had an eventful week with finding out that his heart was in need of a stent and some meds to get it working a little better. We praise the Lord that He allowed Bro. Dale to feel some warning signs from his body in order to be seen and treated before things got worse.
And Bro. Barney, who is also able to fill in for me, is in the middle of some oral surgery procedures that has him out for a little while. So, I know you are all praying for both of these great Bible teachers and their families as they recover at home😊
I had lined up Landon to lead worship this morning, and he is going to go on and do that for us today. He is going to take over leading the congregation and praise team and since Robin and I are here, we will play over in the band section today and let our singers lead out in worship.
Today for our message time, I looked back and it has been a while since we walked through the topic of The Lord’s Supper. So, since we are observing Communion together this morning, I thought it would be a good time to revisit some thoughts on why we commemorate this observance each month and at other special times of the year. It has been at least five years since I have dedicated a sermon to that topic.
Taking time out today to speak on The Lord’s Supper, will still leave the following three weeks to finish The Way to the Cross series and begin the holiday messages on time beginning at Thanksgiving.
As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15
Your Shepherd of the Hills,
