Good Morning Family,
Wowzers! The Second Annual Community Fish Fry and Outdoor Concert with The Homestead Pickers was a tremendous success! Our first year in 2022, we saw attendance at over 120. Last Sunday night, we peaked out north of 170! Walter’s testimony of coming to Christ was a great witness to those who attended. His words of encouragement to follow Jesus no matter what was very inspirational. Also, Greg Bailey’s words of his journey with Jesus touched hearts as well.
We had some folks from Kansas City that were here on vacation stop in for the Fish Fry. We also had some guests from Wyoming that have recently purchased property in Cape Fair that decided to come see what this was all about and several of us got to visit with them as they shared that they are presently traveling back and forth developing their lot. It has been so interesting to see the variety of people from our community and ones that have ties here that come and fellowship together. No one leaves here not knowing that Jesus loves them and that He is the reason we do all we do here at First Baptist Church.
A gigantic “THANK YOU” goes out to all who had a hand in supplying food, preparing, and set up/tear down. Mark Kershaw personally caught much of the fish that was served and for that we are very grateful. Thanks again as well to Dave and Sandy Stover for loaning us the flatbed for the stage and to the men who helped me assemble to lighting rig. All in all, it was a great evening and we extend our kudos and gratitude to Tracy Hudson and the Events Team for being such great servants to bring this fantastic ministry to pass once again😊. The kitchen and fryers were a flurry of activity all afternoon! Way to go, everyone!
As always, my prayer is that we would all “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15.
Your Shepherd of the Hills,
Bro. Steven
