Good Morning Family!
The Fish Fry is well within sight now! This event never ceases to amaze me at how many people we can reach out to and touch with the love of Christ. We make no bones about it that He is the reason we host this event for our community each year. It hardly seems possible that this is our third year.
Robin and I visited Silver Dollar City last Sunday afternoon to have lunch with Holly, who was at work there. We stopped by the Old Homestead Porch where the Pickers had gathered before a show and visited with them. Greg, Walter, Greg, and Emalee are so looking forward to being here next Sunday Night for the Fish Fry. They are really jazzed about coming and not only encouraging people through traditional Ozark Mountain music, but ministering with their individual stories of faith, with quite a bit of fun in between.
Big, GINORMOUS thanks to all who have stepped up to help and or pray for this fantastic fall gathering. We’ve got cornbread makers, fish cleaners, dessert chefs, tater grillers, fish fryers, stagehands, and “pray-ers”. It’s going to be a full weekend of labor and of love next week, so rest up a bit this week.
Today, we will press on in John chapter 9 with the narrative of the man born blind and the healing touch of Jesus. In the message this morning, we will see the amazing ending of this event, where the man finally is able to look the Savior in the eyes and express his faith.
I also want to re-emphasize the graveside memorial service for Lana Mape’s husband Mark tomorrow. It is open to all and is on October 7th at 6:00pm at the Cape Fair cemetery. See you there.
As always, my prayer is that we would all “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15.
Your Shepherd of the Hills,
Bro. Steven
