Good Morning Family!
Last Sunday went off without a hitch as far as Promotion Day for our graded Sunday School classes. I am thankful for all who made that happen. What a great crew of teachers and leaders we have! I am also thankful for our adult class teachers, leaders, and substitutes.
We are in full stride for Fall now and I want to encourage you to pray specifically for ways we may be able to reach out this year to engage further with our community. We have the Bridges Ministry, the Shut-In Ministry, and the Welcome Ministry all doing their part to reach the groups they are seeing about.
If you would like further information about any of these; please see myself or Robin about Bridges, Lana Mapes regarding Welcoming, and Janet Gehant if you would like more information about helping with those in our community who are unable, for the most part to get out and about.
We are also seeing our Events Team putting together the details for our Community Fall Fish Fry scheduled for Sunday evening, October 9th. Make plans to attend this encouraging and very “yummy” time with the church family and, prayerfully, some folks from our community. It should be a fantastic evening of fellowship outside in the cool, cool, cool of the evening!
Today’s message is taken from probably the most familiar of all Scripture passages outside of the Lord’s Prayer and John 3:16 and is entitled, “My Shepherd”. As we continue our journey through “The Way of Wisdom” series based upon the music of Michael Card from the album of the same name, we now come to the 23rd Psalm. This morning, I am hopeful the Lord will help each of us gain a possible new insight on this most familiar of passages.
As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15
Humbly Yours,
Bro. Steven
