Good Morning Family,
This morning, we will finish the short mini-series we began a few weeks ago and prayerfully conclude “The Question of the Cross”. We will be examining “What did Satan know and when did he know it,” in regard to the atonement. I hope you have found the past few sermons on this topic intriguing and challenging.
Next Sunday is our Celebration Potluck immediately after the morning service on Sunday, September 24th. We will gather that day to give glory to the Lord for supplying in miraculous ways to finally get the loan on the sanctuary and the upper lot purchase PAID IN FULL. The Lord has seen us through every step of the way and has blessed us with several large gifts in the last few months which brought the balance down to $0 way ahead of time! We offer our heartfelt thanks for His blessings in our lives and in our church family. So, mark your calendar for September 24 for Celebration Sunday.
I hope you took some time this past week to remember 9-11. It is a reminder to us of the fragility of life, the danger of the world, and our deep need to return to the Lord as a nation. I remember that morning quite well as the first plane hit on my way to the office and the second plane hit as the church staff had gathered in my office to watch coverage. At that moment, we knew we needed to begin to not only pray but mobilize the church to support the community. I pray churches all across America will continue to stand strong for the Gospel and be constant lighthouses for our neighbors.
I am thankful for the shepherding heart of First Baptist Church toward the Cape Fair region! Keep it up!
As always, my prayer is that we would all “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15.
Your Shepherd of the Hills,
Bro. Steven
