Good Morning Family!
As usual, I write this letter most of the time on Thursday morning as that is when the bulletin is produced each week. This way I can be as close as I can to Sunday. By the time you read this, the Fall Ladies Retreat will have concluded, and I am expecting it to have been a tremendously encouraging time for the nearly 60 ladies in attendance. I am able to say that beforehand, because I have seen the preparations and heart that have gone into it over the past several months and am trusting God for the outcome.
This was one of those things that the Lord laid on the heart of several of our women and His blessing of their response to begin laying groundwork and now the final preparations has been something to see. I am sure I will have more to say on this in our service this morning.
Today, we will continue on ahead in John 9 with the narrative of the man born blind and the healing of Jesus. This miracle resulted in a tremendous testimony from the man to the skeptics as well as glory and honor given to Jesus for His compassion and power. The end result being people seeing it as a testament to His claims that He was indeed the Son of God.
Please be in prayer for our dear sister, Lana Mapes as many of you have come to know already, that her husband Mark passed away this past week. She is trusting the Lord and pushing through. She has related to us that the graveside service is open to all and is on October 7th at 6:00pm at the Cape Fair cemetery.
As always, my prayer is that we would all “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15.
Your Shepherd of the Hills,
Bro. Steven
